i remembered there was this one time,ACJC was at some waterpolo/rugby match against RJC and my class was there to support so naturally, there were alot of cheerings going on between the 2 schools.
so, RJ had this cheer that went "V!! FOR RAFFLES!! V!! FOR RAFFLES!! " and they would just go on and on and on and on and on....
and gao turned to me and said "isn't R for Raffles. hurhur" and then he started shouting "F!! FOR SPELLING!! F!! FOR SPELLING!!!"
GAWD. it was damn funny la. i mean duh, of cos we knew that they meant victory. but seriously, V for Raffles just doesn't sound right. i mean u don't hear us going V for AC do you.
just in case there are rafflesian (or whatever u call yourselves) readers out there, i'm not insulting your english or spelling. so dun get all hypersensitive.
anyway, that's not even the main point of my entry.
today was the day the bf finished his final exams. meaning, his 4th yr is finally over. come july will be the start of his 5th and final academic yr. which means, he's like damn estatic la. cos he can finally stop nerding away (at least for now till july).
wrong timing though cos i'm like buried with workload so i can't celebrate his joy. but i decided to be nice and watch a movie with him after training today. hur hur.
AND i wanted to watch Ice Age 2. but both the 8.30pm and 9pm shows were SOLD OUT.
can u believe it?? on a WEDNESDAY NIGHT somemore!!! don't the kids have school the next day???? wah lau. i was like how sad.
so anyway, we ended up watching V for Vendetta (hence, the title).
i actually called it V for VERNETTA. as in the class 95 DJ. as in vernetta lopez from that tan ah teck comedy. HAHAHAHA. i'm like how clueless.
dat's cos the show looked boring to me. plus a bald natalie portman doesn't appeal to me. but she actually looked pretty good hairless. it's her features i tell u. it's so pretty i'm damn jealous la.
so anyway, it's kinda propaganda-ish+political+freedom+oppression+government kinda show. i didn't really appreciate it DURING the show coz there were scenes that puzzled me. but after discussing about it with the bf after the movie, i actually found it a pretty good show. lots of symbolism and representations. u should watch it if u're a fan of literature.
i would like to talk more about the show in relation to governmental issues in today's society, but the bf told me better not la.
later i get thrown into prison. ahahahha.
yay jen wants to watch a match tonight so we're skipping lecture yet again tomorrow. hurhur. i think we haven't gone for like 3 weeks already. feeling guilty but not THAT guilty also la. the lecturer reads off the slides anyway and intelligent beings like us don't really need somebody reading to us when we can read it ourselves.
and i'm left with 2 grp essays and 1 indiv essay. NOT TOO BAD RIGHT. i'm quite proud of myself. i shall aim to finish all by the end of this week.
oh. ben and i wanna go taiwan to eat and sight-see (err and watch marathon race too). WHO WANTS TO GO!!!? ahahhhaha
and i actually felt constipated paddling today. my strokes are weird maaannn. craps.
