I'M DONE WITH MY ESSAYS!!!!
so exciting!!! i can't WAIT to start studying for my exams.
yeah right.
anyway, i still have one last grp meeting tmr to discuss our conclusion. what a snoozefest. but whatever la, i've done my part so i shall just go n show face.
i can't wait to drop my final essay into my tutor's pigeon hole tmr. and i'm even more excited for tues where i'll have my final presentation and the submission of our grp essay.
yayyyyyyyyyy.
btw did anyone catch miss s'pore universe? not to be a biatch abt it, but wah lau. some of the contestants really cannot make it. not that i'm super chio or what, but seriously, enough of those "a beauty pageant is not just about looks, it's about brains and yadahyadahyadah...."
pls la. then why do u think it's called a BEAUTY pageant. let's face the fact, the contestants know they're not pretty enough, so they have to defend themselves by convincing us audience that they have the brains to make up for their lack of outer beauty.
i mean look at those gorgeous supermodels like gisele bundchen or heidi klum. they're like mega hot can. whenever i see them on tv doing those VS fashion shows, i'm like drooling half the time than to bother if any of them have brains. and i certainly don't see any of them proclaiming about their intelligence.
i think the producers of miss s'pore should seriously up their quality of girls instead of trying too hard to look for beauty with brains. we all know God is fair.
that said, the top 3 winners weren't too bad. i actually thought that Jade Seah was pretty cool. i was rooting for her all the way. the winner was so-so la.
ok i better stop bitching.
i had lunch with the bf's family at paddy's field today. some thai restaurant at queensway and it's quite yummyyyyy. a tad too spicy though and now my stomach's feeling queasy. and also, i discovered how much the bf can actually eat. i mean, he finishes up my food all the time but i never knew how much of a pig he is.
he's a bottomless pit i tell you. my gawd, the amount he eats in one meal can feed me for 3 days.
eh ok i shall not tarnish his reputation. he's still the hottest pig i've ever seen. hur hur.

I don't think the producers can just "up the quality" of the girls like that. They could offer more attractive prizes..but apart from that, the quality of the girls really depends ultimately on who turns up for the auditions.
With that said, I think the definition of "beauty" is more than just skin deep. A single factor of physical appearance alone will probably make the show boring because we'll probably be put off by bimbotic answers.
Even on the international arena, it's not always the prettiest that wins. A witty, though provoking mind can be as equally attractive as physical appearance itself. Ever heard of a beautiful mind?
Mike & I thought Jade would win. She's pretty and had brains too, unfortunately the judges thought otherwise. What a waste!

i also agree that beauty isnt just skin deep, a pretty face with no character just bores ppl, i think beauty pageants should judge from a more holistic view.. in international arenas, i think those girls just have it all, thats why u think the prettiest wins... besides, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, someone you think pretty may not be as pretty to others and vice versa!
