women's kayaking championships 2006...

....was over in a day.

it went by pretty fast actually and my events were done by lunch break.

and so i got my FIRST gold medal for a T1 1000m race. T1 OKAY!! don't praayy praayy. have u any idea how heavy the freaking boat is?? my gawd. after 250m i was thinking WTF i can't believe i'm only 1/4 through!!

but it wasn't too bad la. the thing about T1 is there's no stability to worry about. the only siansation is the direction but thank god for calm waters today so i wasn't swerving all over the place.

i remembered my last T1 race was like 5 yrs ago in ACJC when i was in year 1. i was this puny small fry thrown into big fat yellow boat with a power master for a paddle. the paddle itself weighs a ton can. how evil can my stupid seniors get.

and i had to compete in not one, but TWO T1 races back then. both 500m. think one was opens category and the other was under 19. i was disqualified for both can?? hur hur. i finished the wrong lane for one and capsized for the other. can u believe that. capsizing in a T1!!! i bet everyone was laughing at me onshore. boohoohoo.

i was pretty glad i got a chance to compete in a T1 before it got phased out. but i still think 1km is waaaaayyy too long. it's too much torture for my ape-ish arms. and yayyyy me and nio the pig got a gold for our k2 250m in an AK!!! our first time using the AK to compete can. how unnerving. but i'm glad we didn't capsize. i actually wobbled towards the end. wahahaha.

and despite the bf having morning shift (on a sunday!!! how CRUEL can doctors' lives be), he managed to rush down in time for my k2 race. yaayyyy. energy booster! hurhur.

now i'm wondering what races i should be training for or should i just start nua-ing away and continue looking for a job.
