YAY.
I AM ALIVE!
so the marathon is FINALLY over. no heart failures, no fainting, no collapsing and getting trampled on during portege.
but i was generally crampy all the way, no thanks to that time of the month. baaaaaaahhh. life sucks. or rather, being a woman sucks. then again, we do have our perks too. we can't be faulted for being whiny (hurhurs) and we get pampered by our other halves (awww). so i should jus shut up.
so anyway, the 29km was generally made easier with the company of zhuhao, (unfriendly) bill and his partner (i can't rem his name though i keep thinking it's nic ahaha), and enpingy (for the 1st round). whether it's our wash being ridden or we're wash riding, the journey seemed alot less tiring and boring when there are people around you to work with. the last stretch towards the finishing line was the most painful la. somehow, the last round was where the pain sets in, your arms start feeling the fatigue, and your legs starts cramping up (in addition to my stomach). so yea, it was pure torture. it didn't help that the wind decided to be unfriendly too. and it was also the last round where my footpump failed on me. boooooo. but it was certainly most helpful for the 1st 3 rounds. no time wasted having to empty water during porteges, and it kept me entertained just looking at how the water squirts out like a fountain each time i stepped on the pump. such cheap thrills. hurs. and of cos, it's all thanks to mr sun who made the footpump for me, but it made me feel guiltier that the one he and js made broke within the first round. whoooops. but mine's tried, tested and proven (even though it's just for 21km), and it's all for just $4! so if anybody needs a cheap footpump for future marathon use, u noe who to look for!
so the last round was where we got dropped off and it started getting lonely and torturous. thank goodness there was an ntu k2 to cling on to for awhile before we fell off. the wind was so gross at the last stretch that the ending point took like forever to reach la. plus water kept splashing in and i started freaking out, thinking that there was a possibility we might sink just like how mimi and i sank during ubin during the last stretch. but then again, nio is like half of mimi's weight la so the bow wasn't sinking that much. HURS. and nio seemed so sure we wouldn't sink so yup, that consoled me a little. wahaha. but we both wobbled when we climbed out of the boat at the end of it. that was quite funny hees. marathon is definitely not for the old, creaky and retired. so yayyy, no more marathons for me! (stop rolling your eyes nio). but i'm glad i did this with nio the pig. her wash riding skill rawks so my job was just to provide (secret) power when needed. and err, pump water out when necessary. although that was more for self entertainment purpose. hurhurs.
overall it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be la. maybe it was the accelerate drink that mimi sun made for me. energy booster! actually he bought the thing la, it was benben who helped me prepare. awwwwwww. i think i'm still very much a marathoner than a sprinter. sighhh. i miss the marathon nat team. graham was such a grandfatherly figure.he made training alot more enjoyable and bearable. booooo. if they didn't decide to merge i think i wouldn't have quit the nat team. the training schedule seemed alot easier to cope and it was pretty effective too. oh well. sniffles :(
so anywayyyy, i was jus counting down the days to CNY and i realized valentine's day is like round the corner too! how exciting. wahhaa. but sadly it falls on a weekday. PLUS mr sun will be busying studying so yup, i foresee a lonely vday. and NOOOO i am not hinting. i'm nice and understanding so i'm not gonna drag him out and force him to buy me dinner. hurrrrrrrrs.
yayyy can't wait for CNY. my boss asked for my preferred off days this mth and i requested for the CNY weekend and he agreed! wheeeeeeee i got fri to tues off so it's a super long weekend! how excitinggggg. can't wait to stuff myself with ba gua and pineapple tarts.

and yayy lunch with zhuuuu and nio the pig yesterday :) we caught Apocalypto after i was done with work. i kinda enjoyed the show despite the gruesomeness of it. jaguar paw is such a uber cool name can! plus look at how hawt he is can, muscles rippling, thongs and all. i normally don't like guys with long hair, but i shall make him an exception. wahaha.
there's just something manly about tribesmen la. i think my fascination started back in sec sch when we studied abt !kung bushmen living in amazonian forests and i always wondered how they looked like. plus they have funny perceptions of beauty, like the longer your neck, the more rings u can put around it, the greater your beauty. like how cool. me and jen will be like damn chio la since we have nice slender long necks already. wahaha.
and i'm becoming such a Peak Freak. i think when the show ends next monday i'll get qi yiwu withdrawal symptoms. then again, the next channel 8 show looks quite promising too. looks like i'm gonna be rushing home by 9pm for another one mth or so. hur. ya la i'm an auntie can.
yawns back to work.
ps: HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY JEREMY SUN MINGFA!! here's to 17 mths and many more to come! u da best. *smooooch* :)
contrary to what everyone thinks, i do NOT scold him all the time. wahahah.
presenting our fave position................................
TADAHHHHHHHH!!
Wahahahahah.
