cold, rainy day..

today's the first day of Nationals Canoeing Championship. it's mainly heats and semi-finals. tmr will be semi-finals and finals. i'm freaking tiredddd. zzzz.

super tiring sia. the day started off with 10km race. k2 women had a total of 10 boats and it was kinda like a mass start. k2 men started first, followed by k1 men, then k2 women and finally k1 women, with 2 mins interval. it was damn tiring, especially when the first few km was accompanied by the stupid sun. it only became cloudy when we were finishing the final 2km. bloody hell. anyway, i'm glad we did not let mr goh down. he was really watching us at the 1.5km mark. everytime we turn we could see him and he'll be shouting something at us. i think asking us to twist more or something. hur hur.

overall, the marathon team people did really well. for k2 men, jeremy and jiansheng came in 1st, k1 men wenyang came in 3rd (he was beated by 2 acs guys. wah lau). for k2 women me and nio came in 1st (wheeee a gold medal!hee) and for k1 women belle came in 2nd. kimi came in 1st lor. not that we're not happy for her but we're never gonna hear the end of it man. sigh.

the 10km race ended like at 11am and our next race was at 4pm. fuck sia. damn freaking long and it started raining like at 12 plus. it was freaking cold and we ran into the scf shed to hide. anyway there were like international people competing too and there were 2 guys from the Thailand team who's damn cute!! one of them actually smiled at me and said hi. i couldn't stop blushing lor coz everybody started making fun of me. sighhhhh. he's really damn cute la. so boyish looking. :)

anyway NUS did pretty well for all the heats. hopefully the finals tmr will go just as well. we totally thrash NTU man. ok la better not be too complacent yet. hur hur. belle and jen came in first for both their heats in k2 1000m and k2 500m. me n nio came in first for k2 500m and 2nd for k2 250m. lucky it's straight finals for 1st and 2nd boats man. after the morning's 10km i felt totally shack. don't think i can last if i had to go though semis. kimi also came in first for her k1 1000m heats.

the guys did well too. dom and wenyang came in 1st for their k2 1000m heats, jiansheng and jeremy 1st for their k2 250m and also their k1 1000m and k1 500m respectively. and jeremy actually capped after he crossed the finishing line. damn funny la i can't believed he capped. he's supposed to be damn zai lor! tsktsk. but nvm la still first. haha.

hopefully nothing will screw up tmr and NUS will do just as well. it's quite amusing that our team is pretty small and each of us are like taking at least 3 events and yet we're performing not too badly. wheee :) SRC is actually starting to recognize our achievements coz they actually put it up on a huge banner for matric fair. they listed our medals for SDBA, MR500 and National Women's Championship! and i feel quite proud of myself coz i actually contributed to the achievements. yayy. if we continue winning more medals, we can probably take more money from the school and buy more boats and paddles! instead of them wasting money and buying new dragonboats when even the dboaters themselves think it's quite ridiculous. tsk.

feeling damn sleepy now. my first race tmr is k2 250m finals at 11am. followed by k2 500m finals at 2pm. quite glad 250m is first. get it over and done with. hopefully can get at least 2nd. we were champions for the women's kayaking championship so i think everyone's expecting us to be quite fast. but today's heats didn't go very well. and the boat that came in first is like from combined school. they're DAMN fast. we lost by like 1 sec and i don't think we could have gone any faster. booo. oh well. shall see how tmr.

had dinner at longhouse and shared half a chicken with jiansheng, jen and jerm. (wooooh all the Js. ahahah righhhhhtt.) jerm sent me home after that and i thought that was pretty sweet of him. i thought after he shifted house i'll stop getting lifts home. it's pretty out of the way actually coz bukit timah to my place is quite far. he actually picked me up this morning too! his place is freaking near macritchie but he made a big round by offering to fetch me. how sweeeeeet :)

oh well. shall not think too much.
